REAL CHANGE THROUGH CHANGING MINDS
79% of Canadians acknowledge that the earth is warming.
Only 44% think humans are mostly responsible.
Every generation deals with two big challenges: one is handed down to them, the other is their own creation. Climate change was passed down to us, but we have the power to create big systemic change, starting in our own communities.
Starting is always hard – learning isn’t. 3% Project gives us the tools we need to make changes in our everyday lives and reduce our footprint while improving our efficiency.
WHAT IS 3% PROJECT
3% Project is crossing Canada 4 times, visiting 500 schools nationwide. Why? To educate us on climate solutions and to empower us to take action within our own communities.
Our goals are simple: to achieve more consensus Canada-wide that climate change is real, that its biggest cause is human-created, and to empower youth to take local action towards climate change solutions in their communities.
Together, we can create change.
EDUCATION IS EMPOWERMENT
When you book 3% Project, you give your school a free school-wide assembly from a leading Canadian activist, followed by an ongoing mentorship program led by climate educators who teach employable skills.
3% Project helps students measure their climate actions, turning climate change into a real, tangible issue that they can face.
Starting these projects young is a great way to keep climate change and empowerment at the forefront of a learning, growing mind. The leaders of tomorrow are already in our schools.

- “The 3% Project was invaluable for my students. It provided guidance for those who were already engaged and interested in climate issues, and illuminated these key issues to others.
These are the key issues for the next generations, and Steve and the 3% Project is a springboard to action.”
“I really enjoyed the presentation you guys brought to us, and I fully support the cause you are trying to spread to youth. I also have a passion in helping ameliorate our local environment.”
“The 3% Project presentation inspired my Social Justice 12 class, and the SKSS Global Awareness Society, to action on climate change. The UN Sustainable Development Goals interconnect nicely with the curriculum, and I’ll definitely use them going forward.”
“I found it really interesting how your presentation actually explained the process of climate change and how it is actually happening. I knew that climate change was impacting water levels and natural disasters but I didn’t know exactly how it was happening or how much it was happening and I feel much more educated on the topic now.”
“I was so impressed with Steve and Mariane from 3 percent who came to talk to me about their amazing project to travel the country & talk to youth about climate change in rural & remote communities!”
“So inspired by the youth engagement by Foundation for Environmental Stewardship’s Steve Lee & Mariane Bolla for action on climate & sustainability.”
“Je suis très heureux de ma rencontre de ce matin avec Steve Lee et Mariane Bolla. Nous avons discuté d’éducation, d’environnement et d’implication citoyenne. En effet, ils sont venus nous parler de la Foundation for Environemental Stewardship.”

“3% project, an initiative to involve 3% of Canadians, about a million young people, in a dialogue on climate change. We need this discussion for the sake of our future, and we need these people involved in it.”
“The 3 Percent Project’s school presentation and other supports are the most realistic and helpful of any school assembly subjects in my 20 years of teaching. Any support for the 3 Percent Project would be an excellent investment in education to empower this generation to deal with one of the most challenging issues of today and the future.”
